T4 Summary

A T4 Summary is a summary of remuneration paid. This document is a summary of all amounts an employer has paid to his or her employee(s) in the calendar year.

The CRA will compare the amounts deducted from the employee’s pay for CPP, EI, and income tax on this report against the source deduction remittances made throughout the calendar year. This is essentially a reconciliation of those payments.
